Preparing the Space Workforce of the Future

Vision

Our Vision is to enable mankind to live and work in multiple space locations, thus unleashing human potential as a thriving space civilization. As a first step, the Company aims to enable a permanent and vigorous presence of humans living and working in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), as a preceding step for the colonization of cislunar space and the Moon. SRW is actively engaged in developing a valuable portfolio of key technologies intended to facilitate the plan to deploy a Commercial Low-Earth Orbit Destination, offering a broad range of in-orbit services, in particular assembly, maintenance, manufacturing and debris removal.

XMOD

The XMOD is a large habitation module to house crewmembers, both trained astronauts and private customers, and thus contribute to space exploration. The nominal mission of the XMOD is to provide a safe and habitable environment for tourists and astronauts during their stay. The goal is to have a fully operational habitation module for 20 years, with planned crew changes.

BBB

The BBB (Basic Building Block) is a rigid modular structure designed as the fundamental unit for the assembly of orbital infrastructures, specifically within the framework of the Commercial Low-Earth Orbit space station initiative led by SRW. Its primary role is to function as a standardized structural module, capable of being interconnected with other BBBs to form truss-like frameworks in space

EFESTUS

Project EFESTUS’s final objective is to validate the technology and the repairing procedure of a failed mechanism in space through meticulous test in lab environment. This innovative solution is aimed at future use cases in on-orbit repairing missions, as a way to address the growing demand of On-orbit Servicing and Maintenance of satellites.

The project is split into several phases:

• Requirements and design of the repair tool
• Hardware development
• Testing

In-orbit repair of failed mechanisms is matter of great importance for the space sector and space agencies due to the benefits it can provide to the industry. Examples of this benefits are cost reduction, recycling and life extension of satellites.
