SRW is an ambitious startup company focused on products for Low Earth Orbit commercial space stations. We designed a robotic intensive space station capable of hosting 100 humans. Our goal is to lead and grow the LEO market by hosting a broad range of on orbit manufacturing, science research and tourist services augmented with a strong robotic presence.
Our ideal candidate is interested in pushing the boundaries of what is currently technically possible in LEO space and able to think creatively to solve the challenges that will be needed to make a human populated space station a reality. The ideal candidate will not be discouraged by difficult and often groundbreaking work. We give our employees ample room to grow and expand their knowledge and careers.
Your goal is the design, development, procurement, and test of environmental control, life support, and thermal control components and systems for Low Earth Orbit space station modules.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate computer modeling of subsystems and ECLSS related environments.
- Oversee the design, procurement, and manufacture of hardware.
- Conduct tests to verify performance.
- Develop the systems through flight qualification.
- Working with junior engineers and providing guidance and training to them.
- Ideally, serve as project manager on projects with well-defined scope and objectives.
- Ideally, oversee project budgeting and technology roadmap forecasting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (masters or higher preferred) in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or similar field.
- 3+ years’ experience in habitational modules, Subsystems and ECLSS systems.
- Knowledge and experience with spacecraft, habitat environmental control and life support systems, subsystems, assemblies, and/or components.
- Knowledge and experience with the engineering product lifecycle, ranging from requirements development through design, manufacture, test, and operations.
- Knowledge and experience in TCS (Thermal Control Systems), Crew Systems, High/Low Pressure Gas Systems, Atmosphere Revitalization Systems, Ventilation Systems, Pressure Control Systems, Regenerative Life Support, In-Situ Resource Utilization, Cabin Design.
- Experience with hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers is highly desirable.
- Ideally you will have knowledge and experience in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Analysis, Structural and Thermal Analysis – however this is not a requirement, but is a real plus!
